2014 cannot see the back of it quick enough!

This post is not quilt related just an apology for my utter silence for almost a year.  I have lost four very close family members, which included my partner of eleven years in 2014.  Am only now starting to find my feet again and to get the quilting side of my life up and running again.
Again sorry for the silence and non activity but had to find my feet first after a year of utter turmoil.
Much love to you all

The Geese Saga Continues....

Well here we are day 5 of 2014, I managed to cut all the parts for the geese from both part 2 and 4 of Bonnie Hunter's Easy Street tonight.  Progress however was slow and I did not get round to marking the diagonals.  Hope to get round to marking and some more cutting tomorrow night though.  To one and all hope you have a fantastic day and remember to keep on quilting!

Geese and then some...

Finally on track with the posts as to one a day.  So started cutting the geese from step 2 and 4 simultaneously.  As I live in South Africa there is nowhere that I could put my hands on the Easy angle and Companoin rulers as they are not being exported to this country, however I devised a plan around that and is now having them shipped to friends of mine in Tampa from where she will post them to me.
So had to take the long route and is doing the big square with four smaller square version, which is way more time consuming, lol.  So this particular step may take a day or three for me to complete.
So after spending most of my two hours sussing out quantities I did manage to cut all the large squares and press the fabric for the small squares which will have to wait their turn until tomorrow night.
Just a word on the four patches from yesterday, they were sewn up last year as leader enders while i was working on other projects.  To find out more go to the Quiltville site and see how Bonnie taught me and the rest of the world.  Try the link below otherwise go to Quiltville quips and snips, and find it under tutorials and techniques.

Thanks again Bonnie for the great Easy Street design as well as your wonderful patterns, tips and techniques that you share so abundantly.

Cheating Thursday and Friday

Less time for quilting as other orders occupied my time, however did get around to spinning all the seams of the four patches on Thursday and found time to press the lot on Friday.
Thanks Bonnie I am getting my mojo back.....

It's a new day....

The new year is already four days old as I am writing this but we will play pretend that it is the night of the first and work from there.  Due to a GREAT amount of other work I realised for the month of January not a lot of quilting will be happening in this studio, so I decided that despite the possibility of fire and brimstone I will not be defeated in my endeavours and WILL take at least two hours of everyday to quilt the only way for me to stay sane....
So with that said, I am hauling out a UFO that has been lurking around for a year now, a fabulous quilt design from Bonnie Hunter which she ran as a mystery over the festive season 2012.
What I worked on today was the Double Brick units from step 6.  All  of them done and dusted.
