Splendid Sampler 1 Showcase Post 1

Block 1 - Pat Sloan - Hearts Aflutter.
Block 2 - Wings - Jane Davidson.  A favourite block by a favourite designer and of course we had to add some bling.
Block 3 - Melissa Corry - Lots of Love.
Block 4 - Jen Kingwell - Happy Happy.  The first block we started to tamper with and changed the pom pom flowers to arum lillies and also threw in a pumpkin for good measure.
Block 5 - Celine Perkins - Simple Simon.  A simplistic block with beautiful strong design elements.
As we continue this showcase you will see that there is some blocks quilted and others not, because this is a WIP Work In Progress.  We do it quilt as you go style free motion on our domestic machines in panels.
Much love

History Lesson 101 Part One

For some reason blogger is not allowing too long posts so will have to break it up into shorter offerings until i figured this out.
So our lesson will start with some recent quilt finishes
A twin we made for my eldest sister from a Missouri Star pattern called Sunny Skies if memory serves.
one of our students loved the pattern and we helped her to put one together in lime purple and aqua batiks.
Another recent finish came in the form of this monotone quilt
The client pitched with a Pinterest picture with no background info so out came the graph paper to do this king with extra length. And another monotone to round of this history post of squares in squares from jellyrolls.
Thanks for joining us down memory lane.
Much love

Back to old stomping grounds

Well its literally been years in which facebook and other blogging platforms were tried and tested and none wanted to work the way i wanted it to work so i am back to blogger and blogging the way i know best.  Too old to bother with finnicky tech prefer things straightforward and simple.
So the catch up post here goes as follows if you could not keep up with our blog hopping platform skipping over the last few years it went something like this.....
Met my new partner now husband Willem six years ago, major relocation happened over provinces, i also had a very close shave with my own mortalility this past year 2019 and am not quite out of the woods yet.  But by the Grace of God alone getting there.
So this was catch up in brief tomorrow serious blogging will start happening from here again.
As always keep on quilting....
